Apealls and Complaints
Any appeal to an editorial decision or the peer-review procedure, or complaint related to the editorial processes or about publishing ethics are submitted in writing to the editorial staff of the Surgery, Gastroenterology and Oncology, to the e-mail address: editor[@]sgo-iasgo.com. The appeal is evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and the decision is conveyed to the corresponding author in a timely manner.
Appeal to an editorial decision
Anappeal to the rejection of a manuscript must contain detailed explanations and preferably new data and solid evidence in response to the reviewers' comments. The appeal is reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief, who evaluates the authors'arguments, the reviewers' reports and makes a final decision. The Editor-in-Chiefmay retain the decision to reject the manuscriptor may seek the opinion of another reviewer if deemed necessary. The authors will be informed about the final decision within 1 week. Only one appeal is considered for a manuscript.
Complaint about thereview process
The Surgery, Gastroenterology and Oncology journal adheres to the guidelines published by the
Committee on Publication Ethics. The Editor-in-Chiefinvestigates the matter and decides how to answer to the complainant, usually within 1 week. If the review process was indeed affected in any way, the Editor-in-Chief will request alternative reviewers prior to making a final decision.
